Funding Overview

The Town has received $2,360,273.28 of ARPA funding. The first half of this was received in August of 2021 and the second in August of 2022. To date the Town has provided $75,000 to Mills River Fire and Rescue for premium pay and committed $70,000 to the Mills River Farm Market. This commitment to the Market is in the form of $17,500 per year for four years to support the Market's Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) dollar matching program. On November 28, 2022 Town Council met and decided to allocate funding in two phases of approximately $1.1 million each. The first phase includes $500,000 for land conservation and preservation, $500,000 for property acquisition, and $100,000 for nonprofits. The second phase of funding will be discussed around late summer to early fall of 2023.
