Recreation Programs

We are looking for contract instructors!

Do you have a special skill or certification? Passion for a specific dance or fitness program? A knack for teaching something others might want to learn? We are currently seeking instructors for recreation programs.  Please fill out a program proposal form (google form) or a Program Proposal Form (PDF) if you are interested in becoming a contract instructor!

REFIT Dance Fitness Classes

Join us on Thursday mornings for REFIT dance fitness classes. REFIT is a group fitness experience that rocks your heart, body, and soul with powerful moves and positive music, to inspire you from the inside out. REFIT classes propel students to their best selves through dance, toning, balance, and flexibility. Great for both beginners and fitness enthusiasts. 

Dates: Tuesdays and Thursdays

Time: 9:00am-10:0am

Place: Town of Mills River Town Hall (124 Town Center Dr), Commons Room

Cost: $5 per class for residents, $6 for non-residents. Participants can sign up for one, a few, or all sessions. Drop ins welcome if class space available!

Tennis and Pickleball Lessons

The Mills River Parks and Recreation Parks and Recreation Department has partnered with Tennisbloc to provide Tennis and Pickleball lessons for youth and adults at Mills River Park. Visit for a full schedule of classes and for more information.   

Picnic with Professionals

All ages welcome, Free program! Join us in the park Wednesday's 11:30am-12:30pm to learn more about these professionals and the equipment they use everyday! Check back for Summer 2024 dates! 

Family Camp Out at Mills River Park

Spring/Fall 2024 dates coming soon!                                After Free movie night in the park (showing Guardians of the Galaxy Rated PG-13), come enjoy camping under the stars in the park! Bring your tent and camping supplies. No portable grills or pets allowed at this event.                                                 Registration required $12 residents per family $15 non residents per family smores and breakfast included.
