Find My Zoning

Step 1: Start by going to the GIS Map website. There you will likely see something similar to the picture shown. On the left-hand side of the screen, you will want to find an icon that looks like binoculars (Highlighted in Red on the image). Select that icon.

Step 1 Map

Step 2: Enter your address in the search box that pops up (Highlighted in red on the image.), and press enter. If your property doesn't have an address yet select the box that says "address" (highlighted in yellow on the image) and change the "search by" option to the Pin, Parcel ID (REID), or Owner Name.

Step 2 Map

Step 3: Your property should show up on the screen shortly. Once it has zoomed into your property, find the "Map Layers" button at the top of the screen (highlighted in red on the image), and select that.

Step 3 Map

Step 4: A menu should appear on the left-hand side of the screen called "Map Layers". In that menu, you will want to find the "Boundaries" button (highlighted in red on the image). Select the checkbox next to it to turn that layer off.

Step 4 Map

Step 5: Above the "Boundaries" layer you just turned off, you will find the "Zoning" menu (highlighted in red on the image). Unlike last time, you will want to select the plus sign beside the check box, rather than the checkbox itself.

Step 5 Map

Step 6: Scroll down in the menu you just opened and find "Town of Mills River Zoning", and click the check box beside that layer (highlighted in red on the image). This will show you the color code for the zoning district, as well as activate this layer on your map. The zoning codes will also be shown on the map itself (highlighted in yellow on the image).
