The Town of Mills River has a contract with Mills River Fire and Rescue for fire protection within the Town limits.

Planning & Zoning

Following two years of steering committee meetings, public input, stakeholder feedback, and direction by the Town Council, on May 27, 2021, the Town of Mills River adopted the Making Mills River 2040 Comprehensive Plan.

Property Tax

The Town of Mills River began assessing taxes upon its Incorporation in June 2003.

Street Lights

In May of 2005, the Town of Mills River began a street-lighting project by installing lights at the intersections of Highway 280 (Boylston Highway), Old Turnpike Road, and Schoolhouse Road; and at the intersection of Highway 191 South and Banner Farm Road.
