ZONING

The Town of Mills River adopted its Zoning Ordinance in March of 2004. This Ordinance manages different types of land uses and where development is allowed in the Town. Citizens who wish to develop property in the Town or utilize existing development are required to obtain a Zoning Permit from the Town of Mills River.

Henderson County requires citizens developing property in Mills River to have a Mills River Zoning Permit before issuing a building inspection or septic system permit. The Zoning Administrator is available to assist with questions concerning zoning or the permitting process in the Town. Copies of Zoning Ordinances and Zoning Permits can be obtained at Town Hall.

SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS

The Town adopted a Subdivision Ordinance which controls the subdividing of land located in Mills River in March 2004. Regulations differ based upon the size of the development.

ADDITIONAL REGULATIONS

In addition, the Town of Mills River adopted ordinances regulating Communications Towers, Manufactured Home Parks, and Vested Rights.
