The Mills River
Library opened its door in April of 2005. Since that time, the
community has responded enthusiastically! Staffed entirely by
dedicated Mills River volunteers, who have collectively donated 75
hours per week, the Library contains more than 4,000 books, tapes,
CDs, and DVDs for loan, many donated by Friends of the Henderson
County Library. Our branch is part of the Henderson County
Library System and you may use your regular library card. We are
a full service branch which includes requests, both check-in and
check-out and pay fines. |
TO DONATE
BOOKS: Books may
be dropped off at the Mills River Library. Donated books received at
Mills River are then forwarded to the Main Library for evaluation.
Books are then sorted and catalogued and their usefulness determined and
books that are not selected for distribution are given to the Friends of
the Henderson County Library for sale to benefit the system.
TO
VOLUNTEER: Contact
the Mills River Library at 890-1850.

********SPECIAL REQUEST********
As we
move forward with the Library, we are hoping to create a
section that just deals with the history
of Mills River. If you have anything that pertains to the history of
Mills River and you would like to donate it to the Library, such as old
photographs or books, you may contact Town Hall or our branch
library. We also would welcome old
pictures that are in frames that we could hang on the Library wall.
