The Town Council has mandated that all committee meetings abide by NC Open
Meetings' Law. This

Agricultural Advisory Committee consists of 10 seats and is served by
members of the local agricultural community. The committee is charged

when caseload

Committee consists of 7 seats. Members serve one-year terms and are
charged with advising Council on financial decisions affecting the

monthly and quarterly basis, and previews the upcoming fiscal year
budget working very closely with our independent auditor to make sure
that our processes are legal and conform to the best practices of the
State’s Local Government Commission. The committee assures Council that
expenditures remain within the current fiscal year budget and advise
Council on large expenditures. The committee meets every month on the

and, in some circumstances, special use permits. Various other matters
regarding land use development must also be reviewed by the Planning
Board before being heard by the Town Council. The Board meets on the
first and third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM during Eastern Standard
Time and at 7:30 PM during Eastern Daylight Time. Carolyn Johnson
